Thai (GISTDA) delegates take part in shaping the international civil deep space exploration activities in the 3rd Edition of the Artemis Accords Workshop. 

During 21-22 May 2025, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), representatives from Thailand (GISTDA) take part in the 3rd Edition of the Artemis Accords Workshop, which aimed to build on the ongoing efforts to advance space governance, strengthen international collaboration, and promote the safe, transparent, and sustainable exploration of space. 

As one of the Signatories on the Artemis Accords, Thai delegates, led by Mr. Phee Choosri, Deputy Executive Director of GISTDA, has thoroughly discussed with another 30 active Signatories (over 60 delegates) from around the world, to guide and shape the direction of international civil deep space exploration activities. During the Workshop, crucial topics, for instance, transparency, non-interference, interoperability, registration of space objects, release of scientific and technological data, orbital debris and disposal management, relationship between the Accords with the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (UN-COPUOS), and outreach to the emerging space nations, were attentively addressed and reached concurrence.      

Thailand (GISTDA) signed the Artemis Accords in December 2024, opening the opportunities for our country to increase role and status on the international space policy arena. GISTDA the space agency of Thailand, was designated as the National Focal Point for both the Artemis Accords and Artemis Program by the Cabinet of Thailand, is fully committed to work closely with all Signatories of the Accords to bring about the most transparent and sustainable space exploration activities by supporting the significant results of the Workshop in UN-COPUOS and other platforms, contributing our experiences/requirements in the global space community, and enhancing participation among emerging Southeast Asian Signatories. While, GISTDA is also utterly seeking outstanding prospects for Thai stakeholders to be involved in the diversified scientific and technological operation of the Artemis Program.   

Currently, there are 55 Signatories of the Artemis Accords, and the number is growing.
